The DARA Volunteer Coordinator actively supports and implements the recruitment of new volunteers, develops and plans volunteer retention activities, and maintains DARA's volunteer database. While this volunteer role is a year-round commitment, during the first few months of any active resettlement period, the Volunteer Coordinator must be available to work in tandem with DARA's committee chairs in organizing, assigning, and scheduling volunteers for day-to-day tasks, sometimes on short notice. DARA hopes to give IRIS (Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services) the green light this autumn to welcome another refugee family, and a strong, well-managed volunteer base is essential to the success of refugee resettlement.

The role of DARA's Volunteer Coordinator provides an excellent opportunity to make a true difference in the lives of refugees in our community, and to contribute to and ensure the ongoing success of DARA.
